Primary Students Make Pizzas in Secondary Kitchen
Primary students at Harris Garrard Academy this week made mini pizzas in the secondary school catering room.
They learned food preparation skills such as kneading, rolling, shaping and portioning as well as about food hygiene and the safe use of tools and equipment.
"Our primary students are fortunate because they can have practical lessons in the secondary building at the school, where they get to use equipment that would not normally be available to younger students," said Ms Miller-Peart, Teacher of Food and Nutrition/Hospitality and Catering in the secondary phase.
Primary students will have the chance to prepare a food product or meal in the secondary catering room twice per half term.
Primary phase students learn all the skills you need to make a tasty mini pizza.
