Bexley Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2021-26
At Harris Garrard Academy, we follow the Religious Education syllabus agreed by the Bexley Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE), a statutory body set up by each Local Authority to oversee RE in local schools.
Religious Education plays an important role in preparing pupils for adult life, employment and lifelong learning. It enhances students’ awareness and understanding of religions and beliefs, teachings, practices and forms of expression as well as the influence of religion on individuals, families, communities and culture.
We look at a range of religions and find out about belief systems and practises, enabling our students to develop respect for and sensitivity to others, in particular those whose faiths and beliefs are different from their own. We are following the most up to date Bexley Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. Please visit our Religious Education page to see how we deliver this to all years.
