Year 6 Isle of Wight Trip - Daily Reports
It certainly looks like the childen who went to the Isle of Wight last week (9-13 October) had an amazing adventure. The children were exposed to some things they have never had a chance to undertake, and they have grasped every opportunity with both hands and had a terrific time.
They have overcome their fears by claiming the high wires, they have abseiled down sheer drops, made camps in the woods, and even learned how to light a camp fire and toast marshmellows. It has been a tremendous opportunity and we're proud of them all for doing so well. Big thanks to all the teachers too!
Day Five - Friday 13 October
We have just finished our last activity, had lunch and have boarded the coach to travel home. A fantastic week had by all.
The day started with a yummy breakfast followed by Aeroball and the much anticipated Zip Wire. We had some rain but that just made it all the more fun!
Day Four - Thursday 12 October
Today we all had a go on Jacob's Ladder. We also went orienteering and navigated our way around the site.
The Tunnel Train was great fun and the children got to use their problem solving skills and their communication skills.
The cat walk required the children to work as a team and challenge themselves.
Day Three - Wednesday 11 October
Today we had some more trapeze fun, giant swing giggles and got particularly muddy and wet on the sensory trail.
Day Two - Tuesday 10 October
We have been on an amazing beach walk where we created sculptures from natural resources. We then went abseiling and many of us conquered our fears and even had a second go.
Here we are doing the giant swing, the trapeze, survival training and enjoying another cake for the birthday boy.
Day One - Monday 9 October
The Year 6 children left the Academy and went to Portsmouth by coach to catch the ferry. We all loved the view from the deck.
Later we all sang happy birthday to the birthday boy and sang around the campfire while toasting marshmallows.
