Hair Raising and Dancing Custard for Science Week

We celebrated Science Week recently with some fun practicals over two lunch times. Each session was well attended. 

Science Week 1

Students enjoyed a variety of practical activities, including a hair-raising experience with the Van der Graaff generator and watched dancing custard, awakening their curiosity for the laws of physics. Chemistry fans were surprised that you could boil water in a paper container and were exciting electrons producing different colour flames. 

Science Week 2

The science department were excited to share their love of their subject with students and enjoyed the sessions just as much as the students.
