Mr Carr Inspires Teachers of the Future
Recently Mr Carr, teacher of English at the Harris Garrard Academy, spoke on a panel at a Teach First event. Teach First is a charity that trains and places exceptional graduates into schools to ensure that students have access to teachers of the highest quality. Mr Carr himself is completing the Teach First programme at the Harris Garrard Academy.
Attending the event were students currently studying at top universities that are considering joining the Teach First programme upon graduation. Mr Carr talked about his experience on the Teach First programme and as a teacher at our school. It was incredibly valuable for these students to hear from someone already on the programme. He also took questions from the audience and was able to use his wealth of experience to answer them.
