Art Auctioneering Experience With Christie's
Year 9 Harris Experience students had the opportunity for a behind the scenes visit with Christie’s Auction House, one of the most prestigious auction houses in the country.
Students heard from key members of the Christie’s London team on the world of art auctioneering, learned about the history of the practice, and about how high-profile art is evolving in line with technology like artificial intelligence and digital assets.
Students designed their own exhibition on paper, reflecting an impressive understanding of art categories and themes, and how to conceptualise artwork.
Our students were also offered an amazing opportunity to see an exhibition of Shakespeare's First Folio with original manuscripts.
They finished the day with a visit to the great room where all of Christie's live auctions are held to get a taste of the action.
We are very grateful for Christies hosting our students and giving them an in depth look at the world of art and auctioneering.
