Green Careers Week 2022 - What's Happening At HGA
We will be marking Green Careers Week 2022 (7-11 November) with a series of events at the school during November.

London Climate Kickstart event
At HGA, 30 students across Years 7-11 will be participating in the London Climate Kickstart event at the London Stadium on 17 November. The London Schools’ Climate Kick Start is a city-wide schools programme to empower young people to help tackle climate change, loss of wildlife, and air pollution, supported by the Mayor of London, Let’s Go Zero 2030 and Bloomberg L.P. It will run alongside COP27, due to be held in Egypt, this November.
Sustainability on the Thames Green Careers Conference
Year 9 students will participate in a Sustainability on the Thames Green Careers Conference on 30 November. with speakers from the Port of London Authority, Thames Water, Cory Riverside Energy, Thames Estuary Partnership, and the Environment Agency, amongst others.
Eco-Council action
The HGA Eco-Council students will apply for support from the Royal Society and National Careers Week partnership grants to train Tomorrow's Climate Scientist by studying links between urban green spaces and biodiversity. Our Eco-Council students are also researching how to reduce waste at school using Jack Petchey funds awarded to Year 13 Eco-Council lead Lydia to purchase recycling bins. Read more about our Eco-Council.
Eco-council students will promote activities to protect and connect to our natural environments through the Eco-Club Reward Card (see below) encouraging students to think about their impacts on a changing climate.
