Industrial Cadets Turn HGA Into An Island

Key Stage 3 pupils at HGA have been supported by industry mentors to participate in the Industrial Cadets Bronze Challenge Award with EDT (Engineering Development Trust).

Industrial Cadets is an industry-led programme to build pathways through education and employment for young people. This is the second year we've taken part in this project, with Year 8 Industrial Cadets this year completing their My School is an Island project. This was a challenge to transform HGA it so it can be fully-functional and self-sustainable in an island setting!

Students were very holistic in their approach and studied the styles of governance and economies that would be needed for success, as well as the sustainability measures they would have to put in place.
