Students Aim for Eco-Schools Green Flag Award
HGA students have taken on the challenge of aiming for an Eco-Schools Green Flag award, which rewards young people's environmental action, as well as the Harris Federation Green Academy award.
As part of this challenge, students participated in the planning and design of our Learning Garden, including the planting of 500 trees for the Mayor of London’s Climate Kick-Start Campaign. Participating students were able to meet the Mayor Sadiq Khan and attend a celebration event at the Barbican.
Students also met with muf landscape architects to plan the layout of the Learning Garden, which is a collaboration with the GLA and Clever Cities to pilot innovative technologies in sustainable urban drainage systems. Students will be able to access live data streams and incorporate the data into their schemes of work.
