Year 9 Work With Industry Mentors on Sustainable Design
Year 9 students are participating in EDF’s Industrial Cadets pathways to careers in STEM programme.
This is a skills-based accreditation which pairs student groups up with industry mentors to work on STEM projects. The students are working with mentors from GSK and Cory Riverside Energy to design a solution to a problem.
The students chose to work on designing sustainable facilities to meet the demands of a changing climate. Their final project will be assessed by a panel of industry experts in the next few weeks. We are excited to see the final report and are confident that the students have learned more about teamwork and sustainable design.
In addition to these regular features, our Year 10 students were also able to participate in a virtual lecture series at Imperial College learning about advances in science and medicine. We hope that these wide-ranging opportunities help our students become more confident in their futures as they continue their education.
Students work as a team to generate ideas for sustainable design.
