Arsens, Year 9, is British School Judo Champion
Arsens, Year 9 (left), and Dzuljeta, Year 8 (right), represented Harris Garrard Academy at the British Schools Judo Championships in Sheffield last weekend.
Arsens gained the gold medal and is now British Schools Champion in his age and weight category. Dzuljeta finished fifth in her age and weight category.
Craig Holmes, the students’ coach from Crayford Judo Club, described the event as ‘one of the most prestigious in the UK Judo calendar’. Arsens said: ‘I feel really proud of winning the title. My competitors were a lot taller than me, but my training paid off and I was still able to throw them’.
Mr. Smith, Head of Academy, congratulated both students on their ‘fantastic achievements’.
