Creative Writing Competition - Enter Now!
Billie (below) and Peter (right) are just two of the students who have entered our Creative Writing Competition. And there’s still time for you to enter too.
The closing date is Friday 29th June. Ask Ms Langan, Mrs Brewer or Mrs Kattenhorn if you have any queries, and get writing today!
Billie entered a piece she’d initially written for a school assessment and decided to develop it and enter the competition. “It is about a girl who is trying to find the storm but she loses her father in the process,” she says. “Writing creatively helps with my vocabulary and I really enjoy it. When I finish my stories I give them to my parents and they read them and are really supportive. I’ve written quite a few stories and narratives about the Tudors and Victorians and the Second and First World War.”
Peter has entered an opinion piece about Donald Trump, accusing him of increasing global tension and irresponsible use of social media. “I like writing because it’s a way to express myself,” he says. “I read a lot about current affairs and writing helps me with my English too.”
All the entries will be published on the school website. So get writing today and make sure you submit your work no later than Friday 29 June. Contact Ms Langan, Mrs Brewer or Mrs Kattenhorn if you have any queries. And good luck!
