Core Curriculum (KS4)
At HGA we pride ourselves on offering a broad and balanced curriculum, which ensures many different learning opportunities for every student within the academy. We have a highly academic and challenging curriculum which we are very proud of and most of our students are entered for the EBacc qualification.
Each year there are a few students who need extra support in order to access their curriculum, so that they have achieve highly. These students do not study a language at KS4, but instead are entered into our ‘Core Curriculum’. This is a two-year programme, taught in three one-hour lessons every week in years 10 and 11.
If students would prefer to study another option instead of a language and it is in their best interest, we are able to facilitate this choice after discussion with the student and parents/carers.
