Holiday Activities and Food Programme - Summer 2024

On this page you'll find details of free activities and food for children and young people in Bexley and Greenwich over the summer holiday, including special events for SEND students (see below).


Thamesmead Festival - Saturday 10th August

Click HERE to download the festival programme. Events run from 12pm to 7pm at Southmere Park. Four stages with live music plus arts and crafts and food stalls. Free entry.

Holiday Activities & Food Programme - Bexley & Greenwich

Screenshot 2024 07 01 at 12.41.47The London boroughs of Bexley and Greenwich are delivering the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme which is being funded by the Department for Education.

The HAF programme provides a variety of fun activities, including sports, food making activities, arts and crafts and other exciting opportunities to learn and develop skills. It’s for school aged children and young people from Reception to Year 11, and runs during the easter, summer and winter school holidays.

Places are funded for those who receive benefits-related Free School Meals (FSM). Children and young people also receive a free balanced meal as part of their day.

Good Food in Greenwich Community Kitchen

Good Food in Greenwich Community Kitchen is back – there's no forms or fuss, just tuck in! The Good Food in Greenwich Community Kitchen, a monthly community meal organised by volunteer Community Food Champions with support from GCDA and the Royal Borough of Greenwich. 

Join us for a free Community meal.

  • St Nicholas Church, 66a Whetstone Road, Kidbrooke, SE3 8PZ
  • Lunch served at 1pm - 2.30pm
  • Buses: 386, 178, 89
  • On street parking available

No booking is required. Just turn up!

Everyone is welcome, bring your family and friends. Please bring along a Tupperware and carrier bag as there is often extra food to take away after 2pm!
