Year 9 On Course to Retain Harris Cup
Our Year 9 boys football team are through to the Harris Cup semi-final for the second year running after beating Harris Chafford Hundred in a close-fought quarter-final match.
On the 18th April our Year 9 played against Harris Chafford Hundred in the Harris Cup quarter final. The boys played some great football against a very strong team and were winning 3-2 at half time.
Harris Chafford came out for the second half eager to turn the game around and scored to make it 3-3. Our boys then showed great determination and resilience to score two quick goals to take a 5-3 lead. The end of the game became nail biting as Harris Chafford score two goals with five minutes left to level the game 5-5, and it looked we were heading to penalties.
Then up steps our player of the match, Chetam, who ran through their whole team from kick off to score the winning goal and claim his fourth of the match. This 6-5 win means our Year 9 team are through to the Harris cup semifinal for the second year running, after winning the competition last year. These boys were determined to win and progress to the next round and retain their trophy.
