HGA In Top Eight Indoor Athletics Schools in London
After winning the Bexley Borough indoor athletics competition and qualifying in the top three at the London Youth Games qualifiers, this week we attended the overall finals against the best schools from the remaining 12 Borough in London.
This was the furthest HGA had ever achieved, since to qualify from the London Youth Games qualifiers is extremely difficult within itself.
The HGA team were rightly anxious at the start of the event but put on an incredible showing in both the track and field events. The hard work and training from the squad was clearly evident as we finished above some of the boroughs who had beaten us in the previous round.
Not only did we finish in the top ten but also secured an overall placement of eighth place, meaning it was Bexley’s best ever placing at this event.
Mr Green is immensely proud of the Year 5 and Year 6 squad which, through their dedication and hard work, has led Harris Garrard to this huge achievement. This not only means we are best Harris primary school in London for indoor athletics, but also one of the best indoor athletics schools overall!
