Football - Harris Garrard vs St Gregory’s Catholic School

FootballAfter a long drive to Tunbridge the boys were raring to go after a dominant set of games pre-Covid.

We arrived to find out the upcoming opponents were part of a football academy; this did not faze the Garrard Galactico's.

Ryan opened the scoring with a sublime free kick from the halfway line! After some fantastic defence the opponents found a way through 1-1. This did not stop us. Bobby chips the keeper with a fabulous effort 2-1.

The opposition turned on the gas with relentless attacking, but they were not going to get past our 6ft 3” monster keeper Josh. The pressure was building and with the last kick of the game the opponent equalised. Straight to pens.

Unlike the opposition, we were familiar with penalties and the boys were ready. After three successful penalties for Garrard, the opponents put forward arguably the best player on the pitch - the opposing number 9. Up he stepped… striking the ball over the bar. It was up to us; score the remaining pens and we win.

The boys did just that! Garrard take the victory! Man of the match for our debutant and captain Jamal. Well done boys!
