Harris Garrard Class of 2021 Celebrates University Success
We are immensely proud of a fantastic set of A Level and vocational results and outcomes this year.
Overall, 80+% (and rising) of our sixth formers are heading off to university, with a further 6+% of students having also won places on competitive apprenticeship programmes.
Despite having lost a quarter of face-to-face teaching time to national lockdowns, Harris Garrard’s Class of 2021 has triumphed. Key highlights include:
- Christian who will be reading medicine at Sussex University after a sterling set of results. Christian's success was even featured in the Evening Standard.
- Ancuta who will be reading Biomedical Science at Kings College London
- Ruby who will be reading Combined Honours - English Literature and History at Newcastle University
It’s been a particularly gruelling two years, and today the students have done themselves, and the Academy very proud indeed.
Praising the entire Year 13 group for their resilience over the past 18 months, Head of Academy Mr West said: “I have huge admiration for our phenomenal students picking up their results today. They have all gone above and beyond to achieve their best.
“They have been supported every step of the way by our fantastic teachers and staff who come to work every day wanting only the best for each student. They have enabled our students, despite the challenges of Covid, to achieve outstanding results.
“We are all so proud of what our Year 13 have accomplished.”
