School Action Plan Helps Tackle Climate Change
Two students from Harris Garrard Academy, Jane (Year 10) and Julia (Year 12 ), were selected to attend the Harris Climate Emergency Conference, which took place at Harris Academy St. Johns Wood on the 26th and 27th September.
Jane and Julia (pictured) gathered together with students from over 25 Harris academies to develop an in-depth knowledge of climate change, its implications and the barriers to solving it.
The challenge was to create an exciting action plan for cutting carbon emissions created at Harris Garrard Academy and to take this plan back and lead its delivery over this academic year.
Julia and Jane presented their ideas about improving the knowledge of climate change among the students and staff at HGA through informative assemblies and agreed to pilot this idea by presenting to the environment club.
We look forward to seeing this and other actions to tackle climate change in action at HGA.
