Secondary Sports Days, July 2019 - Full Details
There are two significant events taking place for secondary students in the coming weeks:
- Harris Garrard Academy All-Through Sports Day, Wednesday 3rd July
- Harris Federation Secondary Sports Day, Thursday 11th July.
Please find below some important information about the two events.
Harris Garrard Academy All-Through Sports Day, Wednesday 3rd July
On this day, all secondary students will participate in three periods of sport, either as competitors or as spectators, and two periods of PSHE.
All pupils will be required to attend school in their full academy PE kits with their blazers over the top. As pupils are participating in two classroom lessons, pupils must bring their Harris bag and all their equipment as usual. As a reminder, full academy PE kit consists of:
- Red academy PE shorts
- PE polo shirt emblazoned with the logo.
- A pair of plain white ankle socks (no frills) or a pair of academy football socks
- Sturdy sports trainers.
Students should bring sufficient water and sun protection with them. In addition, as students will be on the field for approximately two and a half hours/three hours throughout the day, they may bring a sun hut with them on this occasion.
Due to limited space on the field, we are unable to invite secondary parents to spectate at the event. However, photos and news of the day will be published on our website.
All secondary students will be dismissed at 15:10.
Harris Federation Secondary Sports Day, Thursday 11th July
This is a prestigious sporting event that is held at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre every year.
All Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils from all Harris academies will attend this event. Students should arrive at the academy at the normal time. They will be travelling by coach and returning for approximately 3.30pm, depending on traffic.
Students should wear their full academy uniform (not PE kit), unless they have been told in advance that they will be competing. Students must bring a packed lunch, plenty of water and sun protection with them. Students entitled to free school meals will be provided with a packed lunch by the academy.
Please be aware that photographs will be taken throughout the day and may be included on academy websites and newsfeeds.

We are very much looking forward to both of these events!
