Great Learning - Some Examples
We're really proud of the work our primary school students produce. To give you an idea of the standard of their homework and classwork we'll be adding examples here throughout the year.

Writing in character
Talia in 5B was set a challenge to write a diary entry from the perspective of Francis. At the end of her recount, she manipulated her grammar and handwriting to show the difference between a character and her author's voice!
Writing a recount
Year 6 have been writing a first draft of a recount inspired by the book Jessica’s Ghost.
Year 6 multiplication
Year 6 have been multiplying two two-digit numbers together!
Year 1 label body parts
In Science in Year 1, they have been labelling the body parts using accurate spelling and letter formation.
Learning about Hinduism

Trees and vegetation
Year 3 have been going out into our own new pond area during Forest School, looking at different types of trees and vegetation. Each child has a half-term of Forest School each year and three Outdoor Classroom days.
Year 3 tell the time
In Maths in Year 3, they have been learning to tell the time!
Adding three-digit numbers
Year 3 have also been practising adding two three-digit numbers together.
Multiplying two-digit numbers
Year 6 have been multiplying two two-digit numbers together.
Honing gymnastic skills
Year 1 have been getting active during PE and honing their gymnastics skills.
What is a life cycle?
Year 2 have been writing definitions in Science.

Year 4 in focus
In Science, students have been learning about types of teeth...
…and how different drinks affect them.
In RE they have been looking at the significance of baptism to Christians.
In English we looked at model examples of the types of writing we are creating and unpicked the features.
This then helps us write with a clear understanding of the type of writing and the standard we should be completing.
Students can then pick their own targets and peer-assess others to make sure they know exactly the standards they should be working to!
Year 5 in focus
Year 5 Science. Looking at the effects the Earth’s gravity has on our closest orbiting neighbours.
Year 5 – Vocabulary lesson. Building our vocabulary knowledge with new words we can then use in our writing.
…here is then the work at the end of the week using our new vocabulary!
Year 5 – Another wonderful example of the language and writing skills of our students. I can feel the excitement of the rollercoaster!

Year 5 Geography. Developing our understanding of the world around us to include lines on longitude and latitude. This will help us analyse different climate zones and tropics in later lessons.
